Tyler Scott is a 17 year old racer from Springfield, Missouri.
He began his racing career 10 years ago and racing has become
his greatest passion in life. He first raced in karts on dirt in
1999 and he collected numerous feature wins and track
championships across Kansas and Missouri.

At the age of 13 Scott moved up the ranks into an open-wheel
legends car. His first ever race in a legends car ended much
like his last race in a kart; he finished 2nd in
the heat race
and then was flipped onto his roof for the feature. After the
rocky debut in the legends car the rest of the year was a
significant improvement and a huge learning experience for Tyler
Scott Motorsports.
Throughout his time in the legends car Scott met several people
in the racing community. He made some great friends, but most
importantly he met Randy Davenport. He helped Scott, his father,
and the rest of the team create setups and gave Scott tips on
improving his driving skill. Randy continues to be a tremendous
asset to the racing team as a mentor, crew chief, and a very
close family friend.
After Davenport joined the team Scott had an immediate
performance gain and enjoyed running up front, leading laps, and
battling for the lead every week. The 2007 Semi-Pro Dirt
Nationals for legends cars were held at Scott’s local track
Lebanon Midway Speedway. He raced his way to the pole position
and became the youngest top qualifier in dirt nationals’
history. He led 26 of the 30 laps and dominated the race only to
be taken out with 4 laps to go by a car that was many laps down.
In 2008 Scott progressed from dirt racing to asphalt racing and
the change turned out to be an excellent move for Scott. He
practiced on asphalt for the first time at Bolivar Speedway in
Bolivar, Missouri and ran laps that were faster than the rest of
the legends cars at the track. In his first asphalt race, Scott
dominated the feature race by leading every lap and holding off
the second place car for the victory. There were only a few
legends races on asphalt in the Missouri area and Scott and the
team planned to travel to other areas, but were hindered due to
financial difficulty. The inability to travel eventually forced
the team to halt the racing program temporarily.
In 2010 the Tyler Scott Racing team has come back to race in the
NASCC Baby Grand series

Eastern Pro Division for national points. |
